Quilter's Garden Retreat Information!!!

Good morning ladies!

Sorry for the delay in sending out this message.  We had issues with our domain name and our website was down for a few days; but, we are up and running now!  Once again, we will open the doors at 9 AM on Friday.  We are so excited for another great time at Wise Guy's.  I hope you will all sign up to do the Mystery on Friday night.  I had fun making it and I think you will too.  It would be a great gift for Easter Baskets!  If you have any questions, just give us a call at the store-815-879-3739.

Pinwheel Parade—taught by Beth on Friday- Decide on the size quilt you wish to make and cut or purchase the number of strips called for.  I used the same fabric for border #1 as for the background.  Before class, cut the background fabric as per the instructions.  You can also cut the 2 ½” strips down to 27” per the instructions.  Be sure to bring your 6 ½” x 24 ½” ruler and your 12 ½” square rulers to class.  For some of the trimming, you might also bring a 3 ½” x 12 ½” or 6 ½” x 12 ½” ruler if you have one.

Scrappy Double Strip Quilt – taught by Carol on Saturday -This quilt is made using 2 ½” strips.  Before class, please have your 52 strips cut.  You will need 26 medium/dark 2 ½” strips and 26 light 2 ½” strips.  (You may choose 1 fabric for your light or make it scrappy like mine.)  Please refer to the pattern for borders and binding.  You will need the 90 degree Double Strip Ruler for this quilt.  * DO NOT sew anything before class.

Mystery Project – Friday evening.  This is a fun project using our new laminate fabrics.  A kit may be purchased for $13.99 and you will also need ½ yard of fusible fleece (it will be available at retreat) and $1.00 for a surprise notion.  (No, it isn’t a zipper.) –ALSO, bring a walking foot and beige thread. A pressing sheet would be helpful if you have one.  If you would like to bring your own – you will need: for (1) color – ½ yd of laminate fabric (18” X 40”) or for (2) colors – 1/3 yd of laminate fabric (12” X 40” in one color and 1/3 yd of laminate fabric in another color. Also, you will need ½ yd of coordinating cotton fabric, ½ yd fusible fleece and $1 for surprise notion.
