Homework for Spring 2014 Retreat If you are wanting to see pictures of the projects and know fabric requirements, go to our website at quiltersgardenonline.com. You can find them under newsletters and the title - "Retreat projects and clearance fabric." For Carol’s Mystery Quilt: Have the amount of charms needed (5” X 5”) – remember that you want a good contrast between your charm fabric and background. If you have a color that you are “iffy” on, make sure you have a substitute along. Cut ALL of the background fabric 2 ½” X w.o.f. For Carol’s Tablerunner: You will need: (5) colors and 10” of each color ****you will need a 2 ½” strip and a 6 ¾” or 7” strip from the 10” strip Cut (1) 2 ½” X w.o.f. – subcut (4) 5” X 2 ½”, (2) 5 ¼” X 2 ½”, and (2) 5 ½” X 2 ½” – this is for the binding Cut (3) 22 ½ degree wedges from the 7” (or 6 ¾”) strip. VERY IMPORTANT – Keep the fabric folded, lay the ruler with the wider part near the selvage edge and cut out wedge. You will need to open up the fabric to get the third cut. ¼ yd for Border #1 Cut (3) 2” X w.o.f. Beth’s Hot Flash Quilt: Purchase fabric according to the size you are making. Follow cutting directions to cut strips and squares. If you feel comfortable cutting the trapezoids, you may do so. Be sure to bring the Petite Star Ruler to the retreat as it is used a lot during construction. Bring a Tucker Trimmer ruler or 4 ½” square up ruler.
*******If you would like to make this another size besides Queen or Throw, call me and I will figure the amounts out for you.

Carol and Beth
